NEW CHRONOCENTRIC FORUM: CHRONOTOOLS *LINK*

Chronocentric is a great place to discuss your great watches and timers. There is no better place on the internet for conversation and information on Omega than Zowie and vintage (pre-1985 Heuer) watches and timers than On The Dash, both having a natural extra enthusiasm for timepieces from chronograph-driven heritage of both firms.

Many of us own watches that are interesting, purpose-built timepieces, which happen to be neither Omega nor Heuer. Derek Ziglar, creator of Zowie, and Jeff Stein, creator of On the Dash, along with Chuck Maddox, conceived of a place to discuss “tool watches” and created ChronoTools for the discussion of such watches.

The link to ChronoTools Forum has been on the masthead for quite some time. Planning for this forum was well along when plans were interrupted by Derek’s untimely death. We are proud to announce ChronoTools is now active and soliciting your input, comments, photos and discussion of “tool watches”.

Our first topic has been -- what exactly is and isn’t a “tool watch”?, and some of the first posts have explored the subject. We have set out some very broad guidelines, but are taking a sort of policy of “judicial interpretation.” What do I mean?

In 1964, Justice Potter Stewart of the United States Supreme Court tried to define "hard-core" pornography, or what is obscene, by saying, "I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced . . . but I know it when I see it . . . "

We feel like we know a “tool watch” when we see it and so do you.

And we want to see your tool watches and hear why you love them and the stories behind them. Come on over and help us create a new forum!!!

You can follow the link below or simply click on the masthead at ChronoTools.
