I wouldn't waste time watching it call your dealer

My brand new Speedy seems to be gaining time. So far it looks like it has gained about 3 1/2 minutes over 2 to 3 days.

I think that is unacceptable timekeeping.

A new watch, even a non-COSC watch, should be able to keep within +/- 15 seconds per day, minimum. +/- 5 seconds a day is a realistic standard.

The timekeeping you are experiencing is not acceptable. I would return [or return it] to the dealer and ask for recourse.

Is this common?

No, I do not believe so. This is in my experience an uncommon experience. It should keep much better time [like closer to 15 to 60 times better time.

Does it mean the watch is defective?

Or out of adjustment, or magnitized or perhaps have been thumped somehow.

I am going to see if it continues over the next day or two.

I'd call the dealer immediately and explain your findings and see what he/she suggests. I'd imagine they'd ask you to return it for inspection.

Any ideas?

I don't see any benefit in waiting to call the dealer. I'd call them now and see what they say.

The longer you wait the worse in my opinion. Pick up the phone and make a call!

Thanx!

Hope this helps!
