Omega Watch Date Range by Caliber Number?

Hello:

I am looking at an Omega Speedmaster to purchase as a graduation gift for my nephew.

A watch technician has tested the watch and looked at the movement.

He says it is a Caliber 321.

Does anyone here have any idea what year(s) this movement was used in the Speedmaster?

I am looking at a price around $1,000. The watch runs and looks very good. Is this a reasonable price?
