Very difficult vintage OMEGA to identify. Info. where??
I have what appears to be a very difficult vintage OMEGA watch to completely identify or explain. The dial side of the watch indicates "Automatic" "Officially certified Chronometer" "Seamaster", Serial number is 15,643,760 indicating a 1957 manufacture. I had a jeweler remove the back and it is a Calibre 505, 24 Jewel. Odd thing is that the back of the watch indicates "CONSTELLATION". The jeweler indicated that it appears the back is consistent with the rest of the watch body and has no reason to believe that it came from another watch. In checking with the Omega database the 505 is listed with Constellation watches only and I did not get information that the Seamaster ever came with a 505. So . . . ??? I am not sure how to get a photo on this posting but could send one if there is an interest.
