my grandmother's Omega

My paternal grandmother died at age 84 in 1975. I inherited her Omega watch. I wore it for years, then stopped. I dug it out the other day and mailed it off to the Swatch Group to see about getting it repaired and replacing the cheap band that was on it. Today in the mail, I received an estimate of $1,455.14 to repair the watch, stating because of the delicate nature of the repairs, they have to send it to Switzerland.

I kind of have the feeling this watch is worth some money. I have searched through the pictures available and cannot find this watch anywhere.

Does anyone know what a solid gold OLLLLLLLLLLLLLD Omega might be worth? I'm trying to determine whether or not it's worth the money to have it fixed.
