overwind possible on Speedmaster Professional Caliber 1861?

I recently purchased a Speedmaster Pro manual wind watch. It's the watch that has the 1861 caliber and says "from moon to mars" between the 3 and the 5. The saleswoman said it was not possible to overwind the watch. However, after reading some forums and blogs, I'm not sure if she was correct. She said I can wind the watch until the crown doesn't turn anymore. Is she correct in telling me this? I don't attempt to wind the crown past this point but it's definitely tight and I know it's at its maximum. I've only worn it a few times but I don't want the possibility that I'm overwinding it because I'm afraid I'll end up breaking the watch. Any advice would be great. Thank you.
