Facts about the 1953 RAF watch!!!

Hi Bert,

I am a lucky owner of Omega 1953 watches. These watches were produced by Omega in 1952 and delivered to the Royal Air Force in 1953.

The watch has a steel case with 38mm diameter. It is made of "Acier Staybrite" and has the reference number CK-2777.

The movement is an Omega Cal. 283. Inside the case there is a special anti-magnetic cage made of soft iron.

Later most of the dials were replaced by the British MoD. The original dials had radium hour markers. The replacement dials got less radioactive tritium markers. The MoD replacement dial looks like this:
