For sale is this Longines 6B/159 RAF Pilots Wristwatch c.1943
These beautiful wristwatches were issued to RAF navigators and pilots during the Second World War.
The beautiful and all original Longines 6B/159 watch for sale was produced in 1942 at the heart of WW2. The watch would have been shipped to Arthur Baume, the Longines dealer in London prior to it being forwarded onto the RAF for active service. The last watch of its kind is recorded as being delivered to Baume in London on 31 May 1943.
The watch for sale is in lovely overall condition.
The dial is in good condition with some minor surface staining in places, particularly around the “11” and “12” markers.
The beautiful blued steel hands and crown are correct to the original specification of the watch.
The chromed alloy mid-case is in excellent condition with no obvious tarnishing or wear. The case back has all the usual RAF issue markings.
The excellent 12.68N high-grade gilt movement is in good condition and is running well and keeping good time.
The watch diameter is 32mm.
