Re: Seamaster Pro - 007 Lim. Editions?

: A guy I worked with in Baghdad picked up a fake
: 007 LE about a week ago. He came into the
: office bragging about how "spot
: on" the copy was. What a Schmoe!!! That
: watch was such a crappy fake I can't begin
: to tell you how many ways it stunk! He paid
: about $50 (US) for it. It is worth about $10
: (US) IMHO. The dial looked real. I'll give
: him that. But the bezel numbering was way
: off. The font didn't even look right. And
: the helium release valve was
: simply....there. It spins freely in both
: directions but does not tighten or loosen.
: It's simply a hole drilled in the case with
: a stem shoved through it. Again, what a
: schmoe!!! LOL

Err why is he stupid? He has something he clearly enjoys as he is so keen to show it off and didn't have to pay $2000 for the pleasure of it. Personally I am no big fan of the Bond LE so think $50 is about right for a great design ruined by tacky marketing. Do you gain a great advantage from having a working Helium escape valve? Do you do a lot of diving on heliox?
