You could try telling her that you've got it on loan to see if you like it. Then start saving like crazy for her watch. Once you've bought her watch, put the PO away for about a month and tell her that they guy who loaned it to you will let you pay it off over a reasonable period of time.
Hey, I didn't say it was gonna be easy. Anyway, that's what I would do...but then, I wouldn't get myself into such a suicidal predicament. Good luck, and let this be a lesson to the rest of you out there!
