27-30 hours power reserve is a bit low. Is it keeping perfect time? If it isn't, then I recommend you to have it serviced. Based on many experiences from people here, I recommend you to send it to Omega Bienne, Switzerland, but please don't forget to get it cleared through customs before mailing it, otherwise, you might have to end up paying customs for your watch again when it is returned to you from Switzerland.

: Hi everyone, this is my first post to this site
: though I have been a fan of it for close to
: two years. My problem is as follows.....I
: recently inherited an Omega Bond SMP from an
: uncle (I now have two of these beauties!).
: From what I'm told by other family members,
: the watch is about nine or ten years old.
: Other than a few scuffs on the band the
: watch physically appears to be in very good
: shape. However, after testing it (by letting
: it run down, then winding it until I hear
: the overwind protection kick in), I have
: noticed that it will only run for about 27
: to 30 hours before it quits running again.
: Do I have a problem? My understanding is
: that this timepiece should have a 44 hour
: power reserve. Should I have it serviced?
: Near as I can tell, the watch has never been
: serviced(the red dot still appears on the
: back of the watch). Also, since it is my
: first Omega that may need service......would
: you recommend that the local AD's factory
: trained service guy do the work or should I
: send it to Omega? Any advice would be
: greatly appreciated.
