Re: ROLEX vs OMEGA
In Response To: Re: ROLEX vs OMEGA ()

and I'm sure I'll regret wasting my time here, but, in an attempt to avoid getting "upset", and sticking purely to facts...

: My Omega, even with co-axle movement,
: could not keep proper time. My Rolex is a jewel as far as that
: is concerned.

perhaps your Omega needed adjustment. In my experience, one can obtain similar accuracies from properly-regulated examples of both.

: The helix relieve valve on your Omega is a gimmic. No
: one, yes no one, can dive so deep that helix will form inside a
: watch. So, that little valve is only there to create problems.

Yes, it's a gimmick, and one that Rolex include in the Sea-Dweller. It's still a gimmick, you're quite right.

However, and assuming you meant Helium, it can and does build up inside a watch during a chamber descent. On either Omega or Rolex. And it's still a gimmick.

: An Omega which is water resistent to 1000ft is a gimmic.

Probably you're right; as it is on the Rolex Submariner, too.

And Rolex goes much, much further, with the DEEPSEA Sea-Dweller. What on earth is the point of that, I have to wonder? It's not even possible to find water at that depth on Earth :)

: No one,
: yes no one, can dive to that depth and stay alive.

Not so; the SCUBA depth record is > 1,000 ft. But it's still a gimmick.

: please tell me, why are you so upste?

I'm not upset, I'm amused.

Are you upset?

:)
