Re: ROLEX vs OMEGA
In Response To: ROLEX vs OMEGA ()

I think you have underestimated the people on this board. I am familiar and have met some of the posters on this board. Their respective knowledge is quite substantial.

The Rolex v.s Omega threads have pretty much been spent. On every other board I've been on, these threads turn quite ugly and are usually deleted.

You have a preference for Rolex, that's good. However, when you say Rolex is a better value than Omega, you are going to get challenged. In your initial post, you didn't state why or what led you to that conclusion.

As for me, I like many brands. I currently own Omega, Breitling, Rolex, Taz and Zenith. My favorite brand is Omega, but I like all my watches. I feel Rolex and Omega are comparable. They both have their pros and cons.

The edge, albeit a slight one is the fact that the Rolex has an in house movement. Can you say with any certainty that it is superior to the movements in Omegas? I can't. My Omegas have been trouble free and so have my Rolexes.

The old arguement about which grade of steel is better has been talked to death as well.
