: Am brand new here, both to the forum and to watches. I just bought
: an Omega on E-bay, and, to the extent possible, did my homework
: - the watch looks right, the seller has excellent feedback, etc.
: All that said, I would like to have someone who really knows
: what hes doing authenticate the watch, so I plan to have the
: local Omega dealer look at it. He told me I'd have to leave the
: watch behind for a few hours, and this gives me pause. I have
: been told never to let the watch out of my sight, that many
: unscrupulous dealers will jump at an opportunity to get hold of
: a good movement and substitute an inferior one.

: Not that I'm expecting an Omega dealer to be a crook, but I just
: don't have the experience to know how to deal with this - can I
: leave the watch with them with confidence, or ought I to find
: another way to have someone knowledgeable tell me what I bought?
