Not about Omega but Tutima with Lemania's 5100
movement. This was the favorite chronograph movement of Chuck Maddox. For those of you who read with interest his very informative articles, Chuck spelled out why he preferred the Lemania 5100 chronograph movement over the Valjoux 77xx. Like Chuck I also prefer the L 5100. Currently you can only find the L. 5100 in several models by Tutima. They have held the government contract to supply Air Force military chronographs to the German AF since 1985. About a dozen big name firms competed, and like with Omega's Moonwatch with NASA, the watches were subjected to very severe testing requirements by the German military. Why am I writing this. Simple, I'm waiting on UPS to deliver my fourth Tutima model with the L. 5100.
