thank you so much for the information. I was really butting my head on this.
I received this watch as a gift from my father, after he was disabled from an accident at work and received a small settlement. I would not think that he had paid a good sum of money for a fake watch. I remember that he bought a Rolex, sumariner? at the same time, and the total was around $6500, I want to say. Both were used. Unfortunately, I have been disabled from an accident at work myself. I don't know yet if it will be permanent. I have gone through 4 months of therapy to get to the point where I can have surgery. I have my first surgery Monday, with at least one more to follow. Only time will tell if I will walk again. So honestly, I am thinking of selling the watch to help my financial situation- I will not lie about that. That's the main reason for me trying to authenticate the watch. It has been in my ownership for close to 20 years, and it was used when I received it- so the time frame of 1977 would fit.
The diamonds on the gold filled case seemed odd to me as well, and I couldn't find any like it online in the couple hours I spent just looking for a similar piece. The band has the Omega symbol, and I would guess that is is gold filled as well. It matches the case perfectly and hasn't worn through to any silver color at all.
I appreciate all of your help and information, truly.
Joe
