True. One doesn't notice any differences in tachometers, crystals, case or even dials (Except for vintage models). The only difference is in the casebacks. I've studied them so long that I can pretty much determine what kind of caseback is required for what year Speemaster. And even THEN some casebacks are different then others for that time frame. For example, two (Factory fresh 'Stock') 1999 Speedmasters might have the same matching casebacks but with slight differences on them (Ie. deeper lug wrench grooves). Which basically means that these backings could have been manufactured at different time lines when the same machine was re-calibrated, or, it can all be contributed to what Jim said, 'Outsourcing' which means that separate companies are supplying the parts at that time frame. What is important to know is that they are all Omega products and not tampered products.
