: Can some one tell me where I can find information regarding how
: many Omega seamasters have been produced until now?
: Thanks
The short answer is no, if you are asking the number of units produced.
First, Seamasters have been produced since 1948.
Second, Omega has never published production figures by collection (Constellation, Seamaster, Speedmaster, etc.), to my knowledge.
Third, even to get total Omega production by calculating the change in serial numbers from 1948 can only be done through 1995. After that date, Omega began using multiple ranges of serial numbers simultaneously. Omega also skipped ranges of serial numbers.
Basically -- millions, perhaps tens of millions, to give you an order of magnitude. During the time Omega has produced the Seamaster, they have produced more than 40 million watches, and the Seamaster was a popular part of the product line the entire time.
If you are asking how many different models, go to the Omega Vintage Database, select Seamaster and count. Of course, they index one model number and each entry in the database describes three or seven variations of metals and bracelets . . . . . and of course, the database is far from complete.
Hundreds, perhaps thousands, since Omega often had more than a thousand model number variations in any given year. Today the listing of all Omega model numbers is ten pages or so . . . . .
