You calibre 491 is the 19 jewel version and almost identical to cal 471, which then morphed into calibre 501. This family of cakibres was the first bi-directional rotor series.

Some people point to this model as being problematic because of perceived wear in the auto winding system. There is some evidence of click wear in the first breduction wheel of movements that were not serviced regularly, although from the older generation watchmakers that Ive communicated with on this series, it appears that this issue has been exaggerated, mainly because of the write up of this problem in Hampels 'Automatic Wristwatches'
