SMP BOND (2nd full week of ownership) (long)

Would like to share my excitement and on-going satisfaction re: Mid-size, Bond-SMP (Quartz).

I've been more than pleased with this watch for the last couple of weeks. I've gladly worn my budget model AirKing Rolex for 16 years.

For the last few years I've been interested in the SMP (though only passively). In the last 8 months or so I became ACTIVELY interested in Omega in general and the SMP in particular.

I've learned a tremendous amount via TZ, Chronocentric, Omega-Addict and met some very neat folks. Also, learned quite a bit about different models, prices, discounts, grey vs. auth. dealer, etc. etc.

Before I pulled the trigger on this watch I researched as much as I could until I was absoluteley CERTAIN that the watch, size, dealer, price, etc. was exactly as good as I could get.

I am absolutely pleased with this watch and want to share my thanks with you guys. Sorry I haven't posted here before. But I've read your posts for a long time. Thanks for your input.

Although I had intended this watch to be a weekend watch (hence the preference for Quartz) I have noticed that that darn SMP just keeps sneaking on my wrist.

What a great watch. I bought it while on business trip in San Diego. I visited just about every Auth. dealer in a 25 mile radius from my hotel. None of these guys would budge beyond 20%. A few wouldn't move off of MSRP. When one dealer agreed to 900$ I took her up on the offer without hesitation - this is the second best deal I've heard of. I took her up on it because I was there and the watch was already on my wrist. I knew I would not be able to sleep if I hadn't have gone through with it.

Thanks for reading.

STEVE
