Of the two i'd go with the saphire crystal if you'll be wearing it a lot. The scratch resistance is the key factor, and it's nice to be able to wipe it down and have a mirror finish back on the watch. Only way to actually scratch it is if you really drag your arm against some hard stone or similiar material. (roofing shingles, perhaps.....i did this once with a new Seiko about 20 years ago. It had a mineral crystal but i suspect it may have damaged a saphire one also!).

BTW....if you come across a watch and aren't sure if it has a saphire or mineral crystal (other brands, say).....rub you finger across the top of it. The saphire will always have a "greasy" (slippery) feel to it.

: Thanks for the information. I am planing to buy
: my first Omega watch and the 2 models that
: am interested in is one with Hesalite
: crystal and the other Sapphire crystal. What
: are your opinion?
