Re: Price in USA

While I don't know about the dealer mentioned in MMC's note, full size SMP automatics are readily available in many locations around the US from around $1100 to $1300 USD. In addition, while there are state and local taxes, they should be much lower than the VAT (assuming it still exists and is still 15%).

As long as it has an intact serial #, you'll have no problem getting it serviced. Warranties are only available from authorized dealers (The serial
on the SMP is located on the back of the bracelet lug at 7 oclock. It is VERY tiny.)

: Hi guys. Im going on holiday to the USA for two
: weeks leaving on Saturday 7th Sep. Im
: visiting Maryland near Washington DC (where
: I used to live). I am going to buy a
: Seamaster auto black/black s/steel with
: speedmaster style strap as a reward for
: reaching the age of 21 in October. However,
: I am assuming that it will be cheaper in
: America. Over here I am expecting to pay
: £1100, which using a conversion of 1.4 US$
: to 1 UK£ works out as $1540.
: Is it worth buying in the US and will I have
: any problems with servicing in the UK?
: Cheers guys!
