Re: Help! The story behind SMP 2532.80 or 2552.80

: I am looking to buy an Omega SMP 2532.80(full
: size) or 2552.80(mid size). This watch is
: identical to the "James Bond" SMP
: but with a silver bezel. However, I cannot
: find this watch in any local authorized
: retailers or in their catalogs. I assume

Omega catalogs have NEVER shown all the model variations available, so you can't go by that.

That version has been out as long as its blue-bezel counterpart. With all the black dial/bezel variations introduced in the past couple of years, this one has rather taken a back seat. Whether it is discontinued or not, I don't know. But it is likely the hardest combination to find.

If all else fails, you can get the blue bezel version and pay about $100-120 to have Omega switch it to the steel bezel. You'll get to keep the original blue bezel to swap back later if you wish.

You may also find the steel bezel version available at a reputable used watch dealer.
