In Response To: Contrasting b/w on GMT?? ()

The black and silver dial on the GMT is a 24hr dial. The red arrow shows you time on a 24hr basis (silver for day, black for night...). You can use it several ways:
1)As you travel across timezones, set the main hour hand to local time, the red arrow shows "home" time.
2)Rotate the bezel (bidirectional)to track time in another timezone ahead or behind
3)use it as an elapsed time (diver) indicator. Move the 12 arrow to where the minute hand is, and count from there.
4)use it to remind you of an appointment by moving the arrow to a point on the dial.
You may think of other uses, but that's what I use mine for...
