That should be a sapphire crystal, which is very hard to scratch. Had my SMP 4.5 years and never scratched it yet. Make sure it really is a scratch--sometimes a small scuff leaves a mark of something (paint or such) that will wipe off.

But crystal scratches are not covered under warranty. The warranty covers manufacturing *defects* in the watch. A scratch is clearly damage that has occured in use and is entirely your responsibility.

And a sapphire crystal is not very cheap to replace, so I wouldn't replace it unless the mark is a real problem.
