Hi Jeff, on the "9 o clock" register there is a second hand, and also the "mysterious" hour hand.... that is just to keep track of AM/PM in the Arctic the sun is up 24/7 in the summertime and in the winter its black 24/7...so just to keep track of day and night on your "main time" very helpful function......LoL!!!!
