The price for this great Vintage Omega Speedy Pro is $3,350 USD OBRO including worldwide shipping. Bank Wire is preferred but Paypal is OK with split fees (+2%). Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Watch will ship upon full clearance of the funds, as well as any necessary bank vetting.
CASE & CASEBACK: First generation twisted lug case in Very Good vintage condition, with a couple of dings to the non-crown side and a few other minor marks. Lugs are thick and the case was lightly detailed by my watchmaker in 09. Outer caseback shows some heavier marks and smoothing but the Hippocampus, SPEEDMASTER & Omega symbol are quite clear—Good cosmetic condition. Inner caseback has all correct Omega period hallmarks including the correct reference and date code of 64. The inner case and caseback are corrosion free and the inner dust/anti-magnetic cover is also present, of course.
DIAL & HANDS: Genuine Omega factory printed applied-logo Tritium PROFESSIONAL pie pan dial featuring a lovely biscuity patina to the lume bars in conservatively Near Mint condition, with only the slightest signs of aging. Matching Tritium stick hands and fantail spear-tip sweep seconds are likewise Near Mint, with just a hint of degradation to the lumimous on the hour hand. All chrono register hands are likewise Near Mint.
CROWNS & PUSHERS: Original signed Omega winding crown and original pushers are Excellent. The large crown winds and pulls out to the time-setting position as it should. The top pusher stops and starts the chronograph as it should and the bottom pusher resets all chrono registers precisely to zero as designed. There is no hour register creep.
BEZEL: Jet-black Tachymeter bezel insert appears to be a later replacement judging by the position of the 90 dot but is Mint, as is the steel bezel itself.
CRYSTAL: Genuine Omega-signed domed acrylic crystal was replaced at the 09 service and is Near Mint.
MOVEMENT: Legendary Omega cal. 321 column wheel chronograph movement, NASA’s choice for all manned space missions until the advent of the 861, with 22mil serial number. As stated above, I last had the watch serviced in July 2009 and the copper colored movement is pristine visually and the timekeeping and chronograph functions are operating flawlessly.
BRACELET/BAND: Vintage full-length ref. 1039 flat link stretch bracelet date coded “2 70” in Good to Very Good condition with moderate stretch and scratches to the raised logo clasp. Endpieces have always been mismatched and although they fit fine and both are for the early Speedmaster, one is “47” and the other is “516.”
I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form due to its age and the dodgy water resistance of most vintage chronos in general.
This great Vintage Speedy Pro is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer. This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.
Thanks for looking,
T.
