FS: Heuer Autavia Viceroy Ref. 1163V Automatic Chronograph Cal.

Hi all. up for sale is a 1972 Heuer Autavia Viceroy Ref. 1163V. This watch has a 275XXX serial number indicating late 1972 production and is considered part of the last, sixth “batch” of the Viceroy models. This Viceroy Autavia is completely original except for a newly fitted replacement crystal and is in excellent condition, with a recent documented service in May 2015.

This Autavia comes on the rare original "economy" Hong Kong bracelet and an original 1972 magazine ad featuring the original Viceroy promotion through which the watch could be ordered. This is not a reproduction or a copy but an original magazine clipping from the Viceroy campaign.

Condition is per the photos and as follows:

Case: 42mm stainless steel case which has been recently very lightly refinished. Original case chamfers are present and sharp.

Bezel: Original bidirectional tachymetre bezel in very good condition as shown in the photos. There is one moderate scratch near the zero triangle as shown.

Dial/Hands: Original black dial with polished steel markers with white inserts. The tritium is complete and has aged to a light patina. Hands are original stainless steel with red accents and narrow tritium portions. The dial has one light hand drag mark in the center which can be seen in the dial detail photo.

Caseback: Excellent condition solid brushed stainless steel screw caseback.

Crystal: Recently fitted acrylic crystal in very good condition with no deep scratches, cracks, or chips.

Movement: Heuer caliber 12 automatic chronograph movement with all functions working correctly including start, stop, and reset to zero of the chronograph. The movement keeps great time and was just serviced in May 2015.

Bracelet/Strap: Original economy beads of rice bracelet in good condition with moderate stretch and an unsigned clasp.

Accessories: Included is the service receipt from May 2015 and an original 1972 magazine ad featuring the original Viceroy promotion through which the watch could be ordered. This is not a reproduction or a copy but an original magazine clipping from the Viceroy campaign.
