The watch is in excellent condition, unpolished, all original and the dial has turned to a wonderful brown color under the sun.
Dodane was a long-time specialist in aviation timepieces, having constructed them for the US Army and Signal Corps since World War I. Besides manufacturing watches for the French armed forces;
Dodane constructed Type 20 and Type 21 chronographs between 1960 and 1980. (A small series was issued to NATO in the 1970s.) Total production was around 5000 pieces. Dodane used different movements at different times. They started with their own movements and then switched to outside movements including the Valjoux cal. 222 and 230 and later 720.
All Dodane chronographs had the same stainless steel housing with a screw-back.
This is a Military version as you can see for the engravements on case back (pls don't ask me their meaning).
Dial is really nice with complete radhium on hour markers but glow already very very tiny under UV light though hands still glow just a tiny bit more.
Bezel is very good condition as is all case and unpolished to my eyes and case back seems to prove it;
Mechanically I don't know service history but the watch works very well, accurate and chrono also works perfect and resets to zero without any fault.
Watch comes on a very high quality Italian soft leather strap.
