For sale from my personal collection is this amazing end of 1960’s REC Racing Chronograph featuring a Landeron 187 handwinder movement.
The watch is in excellent condition, the acrylic domed crystal is scratch free, the stainless steel case has never been polished, and the watch overall is in a great condition for a watch over 50 years old.
The silver sunburst dial has got recessed blue sub compaxes with tin can rings, a blue tachy scale and a red 24 hour scale. It features unique silver hour and minute hands with white tritium and black blocks, a silver chrono hand and white seconds and minute counter hands with a rectangular base.
Diameter without crowns is 35mm, with crown 3mm, 42mm length, 13.1 mm thickness including the highly domed 3.1mm crystal, this cushion shaped case wears bigger than the numbers suggest. Lug size is 18mm and the watch comes on a new handmade period leather rally strap.
Service: Unknown service history, keeps good time and has an excellent amplitude, winding and setting the time are very smooth, the chronograph is working as it should and resets perfectly, pushers work crisply. Please beware that this is a vintage watch and therefore not as precisely functioning as a modern day watch.
