FS: Enicar Vintage Sherpa Guide Mark III Engelschalk

Sherpa 600 Guide Mark III, Ref. 148.35.01A / 2342. The highlight of this Sherpa Guide is the exceptionally well-preserved dial and hands and the very rare NOS world time bezel.

This very model has utilitarian toolwatch hints written all over, it combines a Super Compressor case, a 24 hour inner rotating bezel, a GMT hand and a world timer outer bezel. This is an honest vintage tool watch in original and overall good condition, and comes fresh from service by a well known Enicar specialist.

Please read the condition report carefully and refer to the high-resolution pictures to help you assess the overall condition of the watch.

MODEL / REFERENCE: Enicar Sherpa 600 Guide, MK III, Ref. 148.35.01A, SN 1346590. The inner caseback carries the numbers 2342 and 12-69.

DIAL & HANDS: The original black matte dial is in clean and in very good condition given the age. All writing is crisp and the raised Saturn logo is in good condition.

The raised indexes show intact lume dots which are reversed at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. The Tritium has aged to a nice beige colour.

Correct MK III hand set and very good condition with a Lollipop second hand. The rallye style checkered GMT hand is in excellent condition with no paint loss.

The tritium on hands and dial glows when activated under UV light, and then fades off.

INNER ROTATING BEZEL: The two-tone 24-hour inner bezel in good condition with light patina. The inner bezel rotates smoothly when operated by the crown at 2 o'clock. Upon close inspection by loupe, we can notice small spots on the two-tone bezel, which provide for a nice and almost regular patina effect.

OUTER ROTATING BEZEL: a new old stock Aluminum bezel has been fitted to the watch. It is an original Enicar part and correct for this reference.

The outer world time bezel rotates manually and has a triangle that allows its wearer to select their city of reference by aligning it with the hour hand. As such, wherever the wearer is, it enables him or her to find out the exact time at any point of the globe at a glance.

CRYSTAL: The domed plexiglass crystal has been lightly polished and displays only minor surface scratches.

CASE: The 43mm case sits tall on the wrist giving it a substantial amount of wrist presence. The Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA) stainless steel case in good vintage condition, with few small scratches and nicks throughout. It shows signs of use consistent with the age of the watch. The case appears to be unpolished, maintaining its thick beveled lugs and sharp side edges.

CASEBACK: The watch has the bayonet case back unique to Enicar referred to with a different patent number than other Super Compressor cases. The original stainless steel caseback is in quite good condition, showing a clear Sherpa clamshell logo at the center and signs of use. The engraved text is crisp and the caseback appears unpolished.

The inner caseback is stamped with the right nomenclature, from the signature diver's helmet to the marking 2342 and 12-69.

CROWNS: The thick dual crowns are cross-hatched. We can still see the manufacturer's signature Saturn logo strongly present and well defined.

The crowns operate flawlessly, from rotating the inner bezel, to winding and time and quick date setting.

MOVEMENT: The watch is powered by the Cal. AR 1146, a very reliable self-winding movement with 12h and 24h display. The movement has been recently serviced by a well known Enicar specialist It runs strong and keeps good time. All functions work as intended.

BRACELET: The stainless-steel beads of rice bracelet pairs very well with the watch and comes with its correct endlinks. It's in very good aesthetic condition with only minor surface scratches and stretch consistent with use and age of the watch. The folding clasp closes securely and is signed Enicar along with the Saturn logo.

ACCESSORIES: Saffiano Leather watch roll.
