Re: Update: Scammer by name of Daniel Hopkins

Having posted a "Want to buy" ad on an audio equipment forum I have been approach by the same "Daniel Hopkins"! He offered me a microphone preamp for close to a $1000. That was a good price, but I was really suspicious because he asked for dollars and had a UK address. It's quite uncommon for someone UK-based to trade in dollars. He also emailed me around weird times (night in Europe, daytime in US). I asked multiple questions and requested pictures of the unit which he promised to send but never did. He insisted on payment via Western Union. I said PayPal only. That was his next response:
My paypal account is currently dormant so I'll also be fine to go via
Bank Transfer as I'm selling to send off money to my father-inlaw in
Italy for the restoration of his 1959 Chevy Truck. If this is okay,
let me know.

I googled "Daniel Hopkins Blackpool" and bumped into this thread. Thank you guys! You saved me almost a thousand bucks and lots of pain!

Let me please post his address once again in bold:

These idiots need to be publicised!

Be safe! Check check check!
