FS: 1971 Vintage Heuer Camaro, Rare Dato/Tachy Model

Right, I need to balance the books, so this one has to go to make way for something else.

Please note, this is a very low price, as it needs the chrono looking at. At best, the chrono hand needs resetting/looking at, at worst, it may need a service. It's keeping good time, but the chrono doesn't run correctly & won't reset to 12 position. I was going to get this sorted & sell it, but have decided to sell it quick (due to an unexpected incoming). A Full service would be circa £170 at Rytetime (guesstimate based on another Heuer I had serviced by Steve).
Once working fine, someone will have a fine Camaro Dato Tachy for well below market price. It's often referred to as the gentleman's ultimate vintage driving watch (SIffert excluded!!). IMHO, the only Camaro that beats this one is the 3 sub dial version, that goes for big bucks - in black with tachy, usually around £2.5-3k

If you are still reading, this is a pretty rare Camaro, with the Tachy scale on the outer of the dial, and has the date, called 'Dato' in Heuer land. It is from c1971. They don't popup that often, I've seen a few on ebay over the past year but with incorrect hands/ unsigned movements.
It's official model number is 73443NT Dato, N meaning Noir for the black dial, T meaning Tachy. Driven by the wonderful hand wound Valjoux 7734 movement. Again, if you Google the model number, almost nothing come up, apart from this very watch - it is pretty rare.

It has a rarely seen 'stardust' patina'd dial - like some of the the old Rolexes have.
The entire watch has a lovely amount of wabi, don't expect something shiney and new. Only notable ding is in the bottom righthand lug, could be easily removed with some elbow grease, as the lug is straight.
It is all correct, with signed crown and fluted pushers. Some had plain pushers, but this looks much better IMHO with the fluted type. It's all signed as it should be - watch out, many Camaros have non-signed replacement movements & incorrect hands.

Full details and history of this very watch is on my blog here, please have a good read.

Comes on a rally vintage style leather strap seen in the pics.
Sizes - 40.3mm with crown (37 without), 43.5 lug to lug, 12.6 thick, 19mm lugs. It sounds small, but wears big - it's a nice size.

£995 inc. delivery to UK/EU/US/Canada

Seen bottom right in the 1970-71 catalogue..

Thanks for looking

Cheers
Stewart
