FS: Vintage 1977 US Military Benrus Type II Class A--All Correct

Up for sale is this US Military Benrus Type II divers watch with a production date of January 1977 in amazing original condition. Typically issued to Navy Seals & UDT personnel, this great Type II Class A comes on its original strap, has its original bezel and inlay, correct domed crystal, correct dimpled crown and features a Mint dial with lovely patina. Furthermore, it retains its original fixed strap bars and the hackset movement is running strong. It’s getting very hard to find genuine issued Benrus Types and to find one in this kind of outstanding and unmolested condition is really special.

Accordingly, the asking price for this all-time great MilWatch is $2050 USD which includes fully insured shipping FedEx worldwide. Payment by Bank Wire or Paypal eCheck preferred. Payment by standard Paypal instant transfer also OK with split fees (+2% to the buyer). Other payment options upon application. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Watch will ship upon full clearance of the funds, as well as any necessary bank vetting.

CASE: The approximately 40 x 48mm non-reflective passivated asymmetrical stainless steel monoblock case is easily in Near Mint to Excellent overall vintage condition with just a couple of light scratches and no real dings to speak of. The original fixed bars are intact and undamaged. US milspecs, issue date and serial number (blurred for security in the pic) are all clear and legible on the back of the case with just a trace of NATO strap “burn”.

DIAL & HANDS: Absolutely Mint matte black 24-hour Type II dial with white enamel numerals and what appears to be the original Tritium luminous triangles with lovely patina. The hands are Excellent with characteristic cracking of the non-luminous white section and I think that the sweep seconds lume has been touched up at some point to stabilize it, as it is shiny and a bit darker.

CROWN: Correct unsigned dimpled crown with dash screws down tightly and unscrews to the winding and hacking time set positions as it should

CRYSTAL: Correct domed crystal is Excellent without crazing and only one fine scratch near "6".

BEZEL: The original bi-directional bezel rotates firmly as it should and is in Near Mint to Excellent condition with only some minor oxidation towards the base where it meets the case. The luminous acrylic elapsed time inlay is in Excellent overall condition with no delamination and only a few small nicks.

MOVEMENT: The 17-jewel cal. GS 1D2 movement ( http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b238/tomvox1/BenrusTypeII77/BenrusTypeII-calGS1D2.jpg ) is running strong and properly hacks when the crown is pulled out to the time setting position. While I do not know the service history of this movement, I will still guarantee it for all normal non-abusive use for 6-months.

STRAP: This Type II comes on its original long one-piece black 20mm single-keeper Nylon strap.

I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form.

This great US Military Benrus Type II is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund (less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer). This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.

Thanks for looking,
