FS: Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Mariner Deep Sea one of 1532 made

Grandaddy of all Super Compressor watches and one of the trio of Jaeger-Lecoultre's original divers in the 1960s. This is the Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Mariner Deep Sea. Only made in 1968-71 and only 1532 were ever produced. Together with the Polaris and Deep Sea Alarm, an extraordinarily rare early JLC dive watch to own. You can pay twice the price for a JLC re-edition Deep Sea or Master Compressor. Why bother?

You can view this Jaeger Lecoultre Deep Sea in person today or tomorrow in San Diego at the NAWCC watch fair in Del Mar or email me to make an offer. One just sold Oct. 27 on EBAY for $4,800 on a NATO strap. This one comes with both of the original steel bands for this watch: a JLC-signed NSA beads bracelet and a JB Champion brick band. Plus, I am throwing in an NOS perforated 20mm Swiss Tropic rubber dive band that would have been the preferred original dive band for this watch.

Watch: Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Mariner Deep Sea reference E558
Age: approx 1968
Complications: Super Compressor
Dial: original perfect
Movement: JLC cal. 883 automatic w/ calendar running perfectly (not serviced)
Bezel: same style rotating inner bezel as Polaris activated by the crown
JLC bracelet: NSA Switzerland beads band (99%)
Brick bracelet: JB Champion USA unsigned (some wear)
Dive strap: 20mm perforated Swiss Tropic (new old stock)
Case: stainless steel (never polished)
Crowns: top original, bottom replacement (I have sourced an original that the buyer can purchase separately)
Crystal: original cracked, needs replacement
Payment: bank wire, check or money order accepted - no paypal

Price: $5,500 or best offer, plus shipping costs

I have many references here - regards - Bill Mahoney
