FSOT: Heuer 2000 Professional Quartz Chronograph (with Box/Papers)

Early 80's Heuer 266.006 in black and gold. The case and bracelet are in an unmarked matt black PVD with an equally unmarked anodised gold bezel, pushers and dial. Time keeping is excellent and all date/chrono functions work impeccably. The watch is signed on the crown, dial, case-back and bracelet. again, the dial is unmarked, has Tritium hour markers and has the legend T-Swiss Made-T. The hands are also tritium and in fine fettle. The date magnifier is set into the dial aperture, beneath the crystal, which is a very neat way of doing it. The crystal itself is mark free and perfect.

The movement in this watch is no budget quartz movement. It is an ESA (ETA) 555-232 married to a Dubois Depraz mechanical chronograph unit.

Here is some more detail shamelessly copied from the web:

"The movements used in the Heuer 2000 Series are actually quite remarkable. Many think of the 2000 as being an entry-level quartz watch, but actually the movement has far more to it than that. Both the quartz and automatic chronographs use the Dubois Depraz 2000 chronograph module. The Automatic movement (LWO 283) mates the DD2000 module to the ETA 2892 base, while the quartz movement (Calibre 185) uses a ESA 555.XXX (also known as the ETA 955.XXX) tractor. The Dubois Depraz 2000 module was the result of a partnership between Lemania and Dubois Depraz that began in the late 1970s. Because Heuer contributed to the funding of the project, the LWo 283 was initially exclusive to Heuer, but when Lemania sold its shares in Heuer in 1984 to TAG, the use of the movement became more widespread. Lemania sold the movement as the Lemania 283 to several high-end clients such as Audemars Piguet in their Royal Oak Offshore, Girard Perregaux (7000 Chronograph) and Baume et Mercier. The quartz chronograph was effectively a forerunner of the Calibre S movement, combining a quartz base with a mechanical chronograph module."

The watch dimensions are as follows:

Diameter 40mm
Lug to lug 45mm
Lug width 13mm

The bracelet is complete and easily good for an 8" wrist. The links still feel quite tight and the whole bracelet has that "new feeling". It also incorporates a divers extension clicked very securely inside the clasp.

Now the pictures. Any visible marks on the PVD are dust/fluff.

I'm setting a trade value of around the £1000 mark but as always it will be more about the watch on offer than the exact value.

I'm looking for something preferably vintage and mechanical but am open to other offers. I can add a little bit of cash.

The watch is also available to buy at £895 plus shipping.

Thanks for looking.
