FS: NOS 1950s Shell Cordovan 2-pc strap for 16mm fixed lugs

This vintage watch item is rare for two reasons: This vintage 1950s strap is made of Shell Cordovan and is a rare 2-piece "Bund" style that is very difficult to source in this type of vintage watch band. Here's a rare chance to get a 16mm vintage Shell Cordovan watch band in the trademark reddish brown color itself known as cordovan.

Shell Cordovan is the term used for a very special leather made from a horse's rump. A horse provides two "shells," or circular sheets of leather. This material, also used for shoes and belts, is famous for its pliability and durability, as well as for the wonderful patina it develops over time. Although considerably more costly than other leathers, Shell Cordovan is an excellent investment and is long-lasting. The smooth, high-grade finish and unique stitching of a Shell Cordovan band gives your vintage watch a special look. This strap measures 8 1/2 inches (22cm), not including the buckle, and will fit a wrist size up to about 6 1/2 inches in diameter. The pad that holds the watch is 29mm wide at the widest ends and 23mm wide across the center. Strap is 1.6mm thick. Comes with a gold-tone buckle but you can request a silver-tone one. The buckle end width is 16mm if you have a signed buckle for this band.

Price is $125.
