FS: Vintage 1970s Aquadive 20 ATM w/ Beautiful "Deep Blue" Dial

Up for sale is this cool and funky vintage 1970s Aquadive 20 ATM diver with gorgeous "Deep Blue"-style pie pan dial in heavy, water resistant screwed stainless steel case. This full size retro diver features a screw down crown and the redoubtable ETA 2873 full rotor automatic movement. It is in overall Very Good unpolished vintage condition with a gorgeous Mint dial with Tritium luminous dots and a cool Trit handset featuring a big lollipop orange sweep seconds. This watch represents great retro style as well as bang for the buck.

The price for this sweet original Aquadive is $675 USD including fully insured worldwide shipping and Paypal. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Other payment options upon application.

CASE & BACK: Robust 38mm wide (not including crown) x 41.5mm solid stainless three-piece tonneau case. Case looks to have never been polished with original chamfers and has some dings, scratches and marks from the years, Very Good vintage condition overall. Screwed notched back has a few scratches externally but all correct nomenclature is present and crisp, Excellent cosmetic condition and again probably never polished in the past. The inner back is corrosion-free with all correct "NAC Sales" text and screws into the case smoothly and tightly.

DIAL & HANDS: Absolutely gorgeous and Mint multicolor cobalt blue, gray, white and red pie pan dial with framed date window at "3". (There are some dust particles on the underside of the crystal.) All original Tritium luminous dots are intact and all dial text is crisp and legible. Original and luminous white "paddle" hour & minute hands are also Mint and the bright orange sweep seconds hand with oversized lollipop luminous circle is likewise Mint. Simply a stunning dial and very reminiscent of the more expensive multicolored Favre-Leuba Deep Blue "Roulette" version and about the best condition you are likely to ever come across in a 40-year old watch.

BEZEL: Knurled bidirectional bezel (aluminum, I think) with printed on blue elapsed time "insert". The bezel itself is in Excellent cosmetic condition and rotates in both directions with firm finger pressure. But the printing has lost color in about 40% of its area and so it is merely Good. But it looks cool, IMO, especially if you like a watch with WABI.

CROWN: Original unsigned screw down crown screws down tightly, winds when unscrewed and pulls out to the quickset date and time-setting positions, as it should.

CRYSTAL: Nice, thick low domed acrylic crystal seems original and is clean and clear with a just few marks, Excellent condition.

MOVEMENT: High-grade 17-jewel full rotor automatic-winding ETA caliber 2873 movement with shock protection. The date is quickset and the seconds hand is non-hacking. While I do not know the service history and cannot guarantee that it will not need service in future, this robust movement is keeping good time with a strong power reserve. Guaranteed to be functioning properly at the time of shipment, no, ifs ands or buts.

STRAP: This cool Aquadive comes on a brand new rubber dive strap with steel tang buckle. This watch has a lug width of 18mm.

I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form. If you want to use it as it was originally intended, take it to your watchmaker and have it tested.

This great vintage Aquadive 20 ATM diver is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund (less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer). This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.

Thanks for looking,
T.
