FS: HEUER LEMANIA A.M.I. 510.543 rare bird
Hi Fellows
Here for sale a very rare bird - Heuer Lemania A.M.I.
They are very rare and hard to come by.
Clearly built for the Italian Air Force, or ‘Aeronautica Militare Italiana’, they seem to come from around 1982-4. It’s part of Heuer ’1000 Series’ of Lemania 5100 driven models, all with a similar design.
As Jeff Stein says over on OTD, “This is one of Heuer’s “cult” watches — collectors chase them for years; they appear suddenly and vanish even more quickly”.
I am OK with the fact that this one shows some wear; that may be a negative on some watches, but for a watch that was made for rugged use, I appreciate the scars and scrapes.
Furthermore the case and bracelet finish is sandblast and all is on original condition never touched.
Movement working very properly and accurate and as all Lemania 5100 very smooth running.
Mine as all original parts, case sand blated finish not brushed as some on the market though they are very very rare to come up and it is with heuer first serie 1000 steel band (straight and not curved mesh), on the glass there is the old blue anti-glare effect!
My watch is just the number 3xx !!!!!
This is the Aplha Male of the Heuer chronographs, the rightful successor of the military-issue Autavias
