FSOT: CWC 6BB chronograph issued 1980

English Military watches were made to last—and they do!

CWC stands for the Cabot Watch Company, and this CWC was issued to a RAF Pilot in 1980. Evidenced by the last 2 numbers in its serial number. The other numbers indicate the quality the watch should live up to, according to details from the English Ministry of Defence which issued it.The 6BB indicates it was for pilots. It comes on a red and white new NATO strap. It was meant to be worn on a NATO strap because the case has fixed lugs!

The case on this CWC 6BB Chronograph measures 40 mm including the large original crown. The case is all stainless steel and in great condition. As are the dial and hands. The 35 year old patina on the luminecent numbers and hands is great. The hands are silver and shiny (only the small hand on the back seems more mat finish).

Inside ticks a very reliable and clean (not sure about last service) caliber Valjoux 7733 which is in good working condition. There are some signs of use on the case, not on the plastic crystal. This is a great sturdy watch with a heritage. Ready to be worn and loved for a long time to come!
