FS: Heuer Autavia 1163 w/GF Bracelet - 100% Original

For your consideration is a Pre-Viceroy Heuer Autavia 1163. The serial number of the watch dates it to mid 1971, and the date on the original Gay Freres bracelet coincides with being original to the watch as well. I recently purchased from the original owner who confirmed the sale date in 1971 and also confirmed that the watch is 100% original as he received it. The watch shows some wear as would be expected for a piece that is 44 years old. I've posted many pics for your reference. I recently verified above information (date, etc) with the OTD community in a posting a few weeks back on the Heuer Forum.

Overall, I would say this is in excellent condition. Case is in very nice shape with sharp edges, and only minor scuffs as expected with age. Dial is beautiful, with just a hint of patina around the outer ring of the sub-dials. Lume on hands and dial has aged beautifully and matched perfectly. Crystal is original, with only minor surface scratches that I believe could be buffed out to be excellent vs. replacing (if desired). The watch keeps good time and the chrono functions work as they should. Original MH bezel insert is in fine condition. No deep scratches or nicks on this piece. Based on age, most likely powered by a Cal 11i. (sorry don't have tool to open).

I would recommend a service if you plan to wear in consistent rotation. The depth of attention to the case (polish, buff, etc) is up to you as buyer and your preference. Overall a service of the movement, cleaning of the case and crystal polish would be the extent of what I would do if I were keeping. Selling as I have an unexpected opportunity to purchase another Heuer that I have desired for some time.
