FS: Heuer Carrera 1153n (1969)

Early example of the first Heuer Carrera to carry the 'Automatic Chronograph' nomenclature. First execution dial, first execution hands, first execution Tachy and Caliber 11 movement. The latter is running beautifully since being expertly serviced by the excellent Jasper Bitter of Classic Heuer several years ago. Dial and hands are unmolested and still feature the original lume. The case, caseback pushers and crown are near flawless, with the upper case's factory standard brushed gunmetal finish and crisp lines complimented by the similarly near flawless finish of the caseback. Strap is a correct period Corfam item with visible signs of wear, complete with a Heuer shield buckle of correct period appearance but of recent manufacture.

The watch's serial number is 148908 and with informed views* on the OTD discussion forum stating that serial numbers for this model began at 147xxx and are known to have reached at least 190xxx it appears that this watch was one of the first 1,500-2,000 examples (across both 1153n and 1153s variants) onto the market out of an entire run of more than 42,000 examples.

Asking £1,800.

I have excellent references and‎ the watch is available for viewing in London.

*A big thank you to Mark Moss for all his work!
