Please see our ChronoTrader Policies and Terms of Use. Learn more about How To Include Photos In Your Postings.

Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. FS: 1944 Longines 13ZN Chronograph

Longines 13ZN Chronograph, Circa 1944

dial and hands: Original sector "doctor's dial", with "SUIZA" (Spanish for SWISS) marked twice on the dial (once under Longines, and again at 6 o'clock). Dial has aged beautifully with tons of patina, beige or light yellow depending on the light. Blued-steel hands.

movement: Longines 13ZN, manual wind chronograph with flyback function. Both time and chronograph running well. Serial number 6'411'325

case and plexi: 34mm diameter case (excluding crown), shows some wear, with rectangular pushers and unusual fancy lug design; one of the lug mountings (at 7 o'clock) to the case has been repaired at some point before my ownership, as seen in the pictures. Fixed spring bar arrangement also appears to have been repaired at some point before. Slightly domed plexi has scratches, and two separate internal fractures (each at periphery from 6-7 o'clock, and at 9-11 o'clock, respectively. Measures 13mm from caseback to top of plexi, which adds to presence on the wrist. 18mm between the lugs.

strap: no strap will be included

accessories: Paper “Extract from the Archives" from Longines

comments: A very attractive and honest 13ZN with medical dial. Serviced about 2 years ago just prior to my ownership, keeping good time and all chronograph features working properly, including excellent flyback feature the 13ZN's are known for. Photos are under harsh direct light which show all the flaws, but in person it obviously looks much better. Pictures of movement and inside case back are dated but accurate - I do not have the proper tool to open the case so I used these old pictures from the previous owner. Per Longines Heritage department: "Originally, the serial number 6'411'325 identifies a wristchronograph in stainless steel bearing the reference 4886. It is fitted with a mechanical manually wound movement, caliber 13ZN and was invoiced on the 15th November 1944 to the company Perusset, which was at that time our agent for Argentina. For your information, Longines Suiza was inscribed on the dial." I am selling to make room for more watches!

price: US$5,500 + shipping; international possible but US preferred. payment by paypal + 3%

Thanks OTD for the space!
