FS: Longines 'Nonius' vintage Chrono with Vernier seconds.

Hi all,

If 'overspending' was an Olympic sport I'd definitely have a gold medal !!

Some rather major purchases have reduced the 'pot' and I find myself having to sell to replenish.

Offered for sale is this lovely Longines 'Nonius' chronograph with the Vernier centre seconds hand.

The Vernier chrono counter system allows the user to read off the elapsed time, measured to an accuracy of 1/10th of a second, using the position of the center seconds hand with its vernier scale, relative to the fixed scale on the dial. I have to admit - I've never used it other than to be amazed how great it looks sweeping round the dial !

It's driven by the rare Longines calibre 332, based on the Valjoux 72 manual wind movement.

The 40mm stainless steel case is a retro cushion design, the original dial is in super condition with all plots and markings intact and clean - the hands, crown and pushers are also all original.

The watch is in stunning condition for a timepiece that dates back to the late 60's - early 70's. Whilst not a ‘safe queen’ there are remarkably few marks on the watch.

All functions work correctly, timekeeping is excellent, the chronograph starts, stops and resets to zero, all this with a very good power reserve.

This lovely watch makes a great daily wearer and a fine investment, with the Vernier seconds counter giving it a quite unique talking point.

It comes on tan generic leather band with stainless steel buckle.

I'm based in the UK and looking for £2000 (= €2600 / US$2900 ) inc delivery in the UK - International shipping at cost is no problem.

Here are some pics, thanks for looking:
