FS: Glycine Airman SST aka Pumpkin

For sale: Glycine Airman SST aka The Pumpkin

In 1967 Glycine released the Airman SST (Super Sonic Transport), a watch whose design was heavily influenced by input from USAF pilots and which was quickly nicknamed The Pumpkin due to its size and orange GMT ring.

This is a large watch with a diameter of 41,5mm without the crowns and the stainless steel case still shows the original factory brushing. The two-tone dial is unmarked and the hour markers have a nice creamy patina which matches with the hands.

Inside this aviation watch runs an A. Schild 1903 caliber movement which keeps perfect time and the date switches correctly at midnight. As this is a first execution watch it doesn't yet have the date quick set feature.

A really cool detail is the hack feature which uses a small wire that pops up at the 12 o'clock position when the crown is pulled. In most cases this feature is broken however with this SST it still works as it should.

This 24hr watch comes on its super-rare original steel bracelet which is full length and has an Glycine SST signed clasp.

To top things off also the original box is included as well as a spare Glycine Airman strap and the Glycine Airman book by A. Stikkers.
