I had also confirmed authenticity -- there is one in the TAG-Heuer archives, and it is also described in Konrad Knirim's book on German military watches.

This is a neat looking chrono / nice design, but I can understand why the BW selected the old, reliable 230 movement. Surely pilots can remember to wind their watches, and the 230 was rugged and well-proven.
