I've never really wrapped my head around the fact that vintage Heuer stopwatches are so cheap. I'm referring to the 'standard' versions that seem to have a sale price of around £45 - £75, even mint boxed versions can be had for under £60 if you hunt around.
If you went into any upmarket retailer to buy a modern 'no-name' mechanical stopwatch, they would be double that price. Even if you do a quick 'Google shopping' search for a mechanical stopwatch, the results throw up no-named stopwatches for £50 upwards. Even posh novelty egg timers can be priced at £40+.
I just find it odd. I suppose if you love collecting them, then this is great.
