Chuck always had a broad range of tastes. That, and his often professed liking for the Lemania 5100 and offshoots was a large part of what led me to consider the other generations of Carrera other than the first I was concentrated on at the time. And my 510.511 was pretty much a daily wearer for 6 months or so as a result. So a thank you for that, though Chuck wasn't around long enough for me to tell him that he was part of that influence.
I also liked his style of quoting and dissecting a post in reply. It works well and I've borrowed that style a couple of times myself. Though it can be hard to pull off without coming across as at least a little bit confrontational.
Which leads me onto the third point. I always appreciated Chuck's candour, and the way he went about it. I really like 2-register chronographs. Chuck, not so much. But it was also something we could agree to disagree on, which is always a good thing. There are more important things than whether 2 or 3 (or, rarely, 4) registers are best, after all (it is 2 though ;) ).
I think Chuck would be happy to know that his input, information and inspiration live on after the man himself has gone.
