Thanks all.
There were a few good guesses at identifying the engine! It is a 9 cylinder Radial Piaggio P.IX RC 40 radial engine, producing approx. 600 hp at 2350 RPM. Used on WWII single-seat fighters.
The Montreal came from a second hand articles shop in Milan. I also purchased the manual for the above engine from the same shop.
Amazing what's out there if you look around.
