I'd have to agree, I don't think it's original either. Looks a bit like an old 347 or 407 dial, which were obviously not contemporary with the Camaro case. They quite categorically wouldn't have had a date window at that vintage either - the movements simply weren't around to do it and the Vj7734 specifically came along more than 3 decades later.
Of course, a window might have been punched in an older dial for that purpose - not clear from the photo, on the phone at least. The Heuer shield looks a bit off too, the upper right corner looks very rounded.
Looks a bitsa watch, cobbled together from various Heuer and potentially non-Heuer parts, I'm afraid. Good luck to the guy in setting up shop though.
